Hold up! My Uncle was on the Board of this Hospital. I grew up in Zion...I live 5 miles from there and my niece works there...although it's been bought by a different conglomerate.
Zion Hospital was bought out by Cancer Treatment Centers of America. My Uncle sat on the Board for 20 years.

This place was built on principle and the owner, who I know personally, was really rich, really fast. He was my Uncles best man at his wedding.

That said, he made his fortune but still kept his hospitals integrity. Zion, on the other hand, tried to milk them dry because they have no money.

Zion, IL is a junior of Chicago. Milk the Golden Calf.

Zion, IL is a unique place. All of their streets are named after passages in the Bible. Ezekial, Ezra, Bethesda, etc.

It was a Christian community until Atheism shut it down in the 80's and Section 8 moved Cabrini Green out of Chicago into Zion. It changed the landscape of a City of God into chaos.

Cancer Treatment Centers of Chicago was their only tax revenue. They treated their patients well, but, like any other hospital in a low income area, by design, also had to care for locals for whatever the state would reimburse them for.

Quality of care takes a shit when you get an influx of nonpayers by design. Sound familiar? Our border?

No matter what....the Cancer treatment people were given the best care.
