Humidity in the air & breath vapor are factors that need to be considered. All fluids take the shape of its container to reach an equalibrium point. What happens moisture comes in contact with the mask medium? It will contort to fit through the medium, severe when crossing a narrow obstruction if moisture is too large, absorb into the filter medium, or evaporate of the filter medium, or lodge in filter material.
