There will be so many heroes who fought to save humanity and made great sacrifices, yet who will stay away from celebrity and fame. Fighting in the digital realm on social media is weird in that you get unavoidable infamy by going it well; there’s no box to tick to decline publicity. Yet it’s physically very comfortable. The perspective of the man on the street is skewed by the availability bias. Even after five years of fighting, I am still trying to make sense of what has happened at a personal level. It’s all so very strange. One minute I am doing telecom network algebra, the next being denounced in the press as a dangerous extremist. Discombobulating.
