AI is "intelligence without a body". It literally has no skin in the game. This is a problem, since conscience requires this. You have to face the prospect of things being done to you as a consequence of what you have done to others. Mortality is a feature of conscience; execution for crimes has meaning. AI has none of these features, only its creators, who typically distance themselves from their creation and its consequences. It is almost like computing has a sweet spot between colour bitmapped graphics (when it gets to be fun) and the arrival of AI (when it gets to be dangerous).

Is Artificial Intelligence really artificial? It is programmed by people. Why would they not create a back door to control their invention.
After all, hackers are used to create the viruses they send into our electronic equipment. Then they are hired to create the anti-dote to fix the virus they created.
What makes you think that AI is not actually being controlled by someone from behind the scenes? It would explain the "feelings" they have. Inanimate objects cannot have feelings.
Just some food for thought.
