There is indeed an old egyptian story telling about the drowned land with the drowned people in the far west of egypt. There is also an ancient story telling about people who travelled with ships a very long way, visiting middle
(nowadays) america. And there is the story about the boats on lake Titicaca (made from bundled reed), in the same way the Egyptians made their boats (Thor Heyerdall), and the caves in the Grand Canyon with the Egyptian old artifacts.
