The Earth is oblong.
OK, no it isn't.
But what if I say it is — and denounce anyone who disagrees?
Am I a heretic or a madman or a genius?
What is interesting is how people cling to their beliefs.
If having a belief challenged upsets you, ask why.
You are not your thoughts.
Way bigger than those.

Intentionally bred inclinations toward consensus.
Somewhere along the way, it seems man has had an "obedience mode" engineered into us physically. Recently research has led me to consider that we are a species bred/hybridized very much like the domestic dog. ALL domestic dogs today are wolves, it is beyond the argument of proven science today and not a consensus viewpoint. Returned to the wild in situations where they could proliferate they would return to like form from the environment being there that stimulates or "turns on" everything in the wolf which is that creature's genetically designed intent. Consider pigs too, in one pig's lifetime it returns to a hairy aggressive large tusked creature it was once programmed to become when back in the wild. Now, want a freaky shocker? Check out the skeleton pictures I am going to post here in the string below this post.
Man, chimp, gorilla skeletons here. Note spine-to-skull alignments & necks and how they 'hold their head" normally.

Now look at the skulls of all the mentioned primates as adults.
Man, gorilla, and chimp.

Now it gets weirder... here are the skulls of the young of the same lineup of primates. Note proportioning, teeth and jaw sizes/positioning, and flatness of the faces like humans have as well even into adulthood.

Starting to have the appearance of a species that was stopped mid-growth and halted in an infantile/adolescent stage never reaching actual full adulthood. This would explain our brain's amazing ability to learn so well even in old age. We are still in the "monkey see monkey do" stage of children. Were we trained like dogs to stay obedient so it kept us "in check" so as not to reach adulthood and rebel as strong fully matured humans? Is the true intention of what we call "civilization"? A mind prison?
Gen. 6:3 Then the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, because he also is flesh; nevertheless his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.”

Look at this infant chimp skeleton. It has a head stuck on like ours, it has to turn its head up to see forward. As it matures it migrates the spinal entry positioning to "hang" the skull more like a gourd hanging from a stick in adulthood for a permanent life looking forward from all fours. And the skeleton if cut off from the shoulders up in this picture has strong resemblances to a human skeleton young or old.
