The Earth is oblong.
OK, no it isn't.
But what if I say it is — and denounce anyone who disagrees?
Am I a heretic or a madman or a genius?
What is interesting is how people cling to their beliefs.
If having a belief challenged upsets you, ask why.
You are not your thoughts.
Way bigger than those.

Intentionally bred inclinations toward consensus.
Somewhere along the way, it seems man has had an "obedience mode" engineered into us physically. Recently research has led me to consider that we are a species bred/hybridized very much like the domestic dog. ALL domestic dogs today are wolves, it is beyond the argument of proven science today and not a consensus viewpoint. Returned to the wild in situations where they could proliferate they would return to like form from the environment being there that stimulates or "turns on" everything in the wolf which is that creature's genetically designed intent. Consider pigs too, in one pig's lifetime it returns to a hairy aggressive large tusked creature it was once programmed to become when back in the wild. Now, want a freaky shocker? Check out the skeleton pictures I am going to post here in the string below this post.
Man, chimp, gorilla skeletons here. Note spine-to-skull alignments & necks and how they 'hold their head" normally.

Only people mentioned by @realyestervue in this post can reply

If the truth shall kill them, let them die. Always learning & growing so never the same. Merely a humble student & no master.

Now look at the skulls of all the mentioned primates as adults.
Man, gorilla, and chimp.

Now it gets weirder... here are the skulls of the young of the same lineup of primates. Note proportioning, teeth and jaw sizes/positioning, and flatness of the faces like humans have as well even into adulthood.
