Had there not been these negotiations, McCarthy would have acted as the mirror of McConnell and Lindsey Graham in the Senate as [their] insurance policy to see that the declass was just a soft bunch of bullshit with some low level sacrificial sheep to qual all their evil deeds.
This way a large swath of the public has been given a history lesson on how Congress works and how they have been cheating and manipulating everything for years and bonus we got enough rules changed to ACTUALLY SHOW THE EVIL.
