Well, I'm screwed then. I have no money, I have disabled adult kids with me for life, I'm a single mom. I have no idea how all this works (not techy at all) and it is incredibly confusing to the max...

VK I know you tried, you explained a lot, but my brain just couldn't follow it. I'm too old I guess to really understand this. And it seems really scary to have 'money' that is held online somewhere that could disappear at any moment. What prevents us from losing money this way? I hear about this coin or that coin disappearing and people losing A LOT of money and I go cold all over. I can't afford to lose money, I can barely make it paycheck to paycheck.

What happens to people like us, if the 'wealth is redistributed' through XRP? If that is the only way to see any money coming my way, then I'm screwed.

Thanks for trying to help others get some of that money, and you did try hard to explain, I remember. Some of us just can't make it happen for one reason or another :(

I'm with you, Laurie. Start talking economics and my eyes glaze over. I just don't understand it. And I'm in a situation where I can't afford to be losing money. I thought we were working to get out from underneath control by others.

We homestead, have for 35+ years and I grew up prepping with parents who had lived it (great depression and living on a remote cattle ranch). So for me, most of my 'wealth' is in knowledge and skills and everything I have put into homesteading. The tools, the livestock, etc.

I don't want to rely on anything financial, but I do worry about my autistic adult kids when I'm gone. Having some kind of financial savings would help them and that's what my worry is. I thought if 'the wealth' is redistributed through XRP or crypto, I should try for that - but just can't wrap my head around it, and no funds! So, I'll keep carrying on as usual ;)

To me, your way of life is far more pure than any financial wiz-kid and that God will provide for that purity.

I never thought of it like that before. I do know the knowledge and skills have been hard won/leraned sometimes, and are now a normal way of life for us.

It is a good life. But with the cost of things rising, with hay and feed costs double and triple what they were last year, with grain/flour up, etc money is always part of any lifestyle, including homesteading.

My kids keep telling me we need to do a youtube channel so we can teach others how to do things (many homestead youtubers are glitzy and are only there to make money and copy what other YT's do, my kids want to have a channel to help others and let people see the reality of homesteading/prepping). I told them we can try in January, at least it will keep them busy, lol!

God has been very good to us, always coming thru at the 11th hour (which is hard sometimes). I would be lost without Him...

Its difficult for any of us to know what this new world will look like but we know that VK pushed home-gardening hard throughout the summer so maybe your kids are on to something. Because you're right, most people don't know the first thing about self-sufficiency and doing with only what you need, not what you want.
LOL, We could all use a good dose of that.

I'm a Master Gardener - trained through Oregon State Univ. Gardening is much much harder than people think, thanks mostly to movies that show it's so simple (its not). And unless you have 20+ acres you can grow enough to feed your family either, you can help supplement it, but it will never be enough to be self sufficient. Foraging can help a lot, but people have no idea what plant is edible or toxic (I'm an herbalist too and a long time forager). Plus, foraged vegetation has strong flavors that people are not used to, so few would eat it if they knew it was safe. Lets just say it tastes very GREEN, lol!

I told my kids we can make a video this week of how to use your oven to dehydrate foods. I have two dehydrators but there are times I need more - and I use my oven. There are tricks to it ;) I grow celery indoors year round, I use a celery heart bought at the store but you can use the 'stump' of a celery head too ;) Lots of things to share...

We'll see how it turns out!

You have so much important knowledge. It would be an absolute crime not to share it.
We read on AU all the time that those of us who are here now at this crucial time have been hand picked by God for a reason. Surely, that's your reason Laurie. Go do it!

I hadn't thought of it that way. I love helping people learn and I've taught many people, including a whole Mormon church, how to can meat or just how to can food.

I guess I'm leery because many of the 'homesteaders' and preppers on youtube are doing it for money, they really don't know what they are making videos about - they watched other videos and then did it and halfway thru they tell you this is their first time. I get frustrated with the bad way they teach people :( And they do the same thing everyone else does, which doesn't help people learn.

I just figure I'm a nobody, who does this lifestyle daily because we rely on this - not to make money, not to have a glitzy backdrop to the videos, not to show only the positives and hide the negatives... Not sure anyone would want to see reality, good and bad, and videos that are real - messy kitchen, chicken poopy shoes and all. LOL! ;)

We'll try it for sure, and leave it up to God on how or if He wants it to go anywhere ;)

That's all you can do. 🙏
