I need some female advice/help. And or anyone in the medical field.
I will be 50 in Jan. Perimenopausal since 2016. I have a hemoglobin of 7.8. Iron is 12. It was 8.4 3 weeks ago. I have severe bleeding- sometimes lasting 30-40 days.
I met with a gynecological surgeon yesterday. I do not want a hysterectomy nor am I a candidate
I had open heart surgery in 2016 for an aortic aneurysm and currently have an aortic root aneurysm that measures 4.65. The surgeon told me yesterday that if I were to need a second emergency open heart surgery that with my anemia this bad that I would not be able to handle surgery and would die. Her biggest concern is getting my iron up. And bleeding to stop.
They want me to do iron infusions and get an IUD
I have horrible reactions to most "drugs" and take nothing. Not an ibuprofen. Not even natural etc. I'm afraid to try beef liver pills.
I dont do chemicals, no deodorant, only natural shampoos cleaners etc
I am terrified to get an IUD
I need help

i work in ob/gyn . Has ur doctor told u about an endometrial ablation??

She doesnt think this is the best route for me. She thinks that with my anxiety and adneomyosis this is the best option for me. She is the 4th gynecologist that I've seen since 2018. The others wanted me to go on the mini pill. None of them will even consider an ablation

wow. in our practice the doctors usually always offer the least invasive option first. we have many patients that have had great success with an endo ablation. for some patients their bleeding stops completely, for others its drastically reduced. there are some patients that it doesn't help. but more often than not it is very helpful.

I am terrified to be sedated again. That may be why they dont give me that option. I was misdiagnosed for 10 months my aneurysm and it was a complete nightmare. It was 6.6cm when they finally did the CTA and discovered it. I was told that I had anxiety and was admitted to psych 5 times because I knew I was dying and noone believed me. Anything related to doctors, medicine, needles etc trigger my ptsd really bad. I have a hard time breathing and I cry before I enter the buildings. I freak out during visits etc
