I started off my medical career working in the Emergency Room... it paid WELL, by the hour, gave me a chance to keep learning "on the job" w/ the possibility of coaxing in "BACK UP" specialists or begging a helicopter fly salvageable surgical candidates OUT (early 1980's, coal reagions of NE PA). I had 2 babies @ home & hubby in college during RECESSION. NURSES expert wrt SYSTEMS + LIMITATIONS. P 3 yr I➡️a fancier "Tertiary Care Medical Center" near house & hubby's job, BUT it WAS "dog-eat-dog", "💩rolls⬇️hill": power games. THEN, Mennonite Psychiatric Hospital Director (old GP who moved to CALI in the 1960s, felt sorry 4 state hospital patients, RETRAINED, pushed HIS CHURCH 2 ⬆️grade MH RX & est. SEVEN sites in PA) hired me 2 DO med work for 3 y, then said➡️do Psych Residency.
TRUTH is ESSENTIAL. Call it "the SIGNAL".
