i took my 5 year old son on a hayride over a decade ago. it was horrific until i started pointing out the fake to him. there was this five year old validating the masks, the fake blood, the chain saws with no chains…if you allow yourself to see the horror, that is what you will see. i prefer to focus on the absurd. robs their power. my 5 year old was able to defend his 18 year old sister from the chain saw murderer because he was focused on the absurd. interesting day
