I shouldn't say this, but Gab feels a bit like a holding pen for the angry and outcast so that they don't lower the vibe elsewhere. It's a worthy service with much good content and erudite people, but the spirit is off. I am learning a lot of new things about tech by using a spiritual lens that I didn't have before.
The introduction of ads on Truth Social is also "not quite right" to me. There ought to be a way to get the community to work together to create a business model that doesn't have skin tag removal and viagra for old men interrupting your feed. Surely we can do better than this as a society?
I think what distinguishes AU is how little external content is shared here (MSM or alt media articles), and how much original and deeply reflective content is generated. If money was the limiting factor to running the service we'd find a way together to locate it. Free exchange of ideas is a fundamental objective.
Thank you, Martin! I appreciate your thoughtful, authentic, and eloquent posts and truth. Our AU community is a gift. Completely agree about ads, and you are right about the deeply reflective content here. And a spiritual lens is key: the feeling on other platforms, even TS, is off for me … perhaps other platforms are simply no comparison whatsoever to AU (or Wego) and the unique sense of an encouraging brotherhood/sisterhood, prayerfulness/caring, “steadfastly holding the line for Truth,” and#FamilyIsEverything on AU. God bless!
