I would report it so that it is on record. My neighbor was just bit by a german shepherd. Didn't tell anyone until it attacked the other neighbor pushing a baby stroller. My husband jogged by the next week and got a chunk taken from his leg. No rabies shots. The dog is in quarantine now for 8 days.

An owner should not permit a pet they can't (or won't) control to be around people. It's the owner's duty to govern their pets.

I got 4 small critters myself 1 male and 3 females , the male is protective of his females ,he gets nippy if you come over and dont acknowledge him and make sudden moves,after all its his house and bitches ......lol.....he quit nipping at the neighbors years ago ,except for Tom there aint a dog in the neighborhood that likes Tom

Had this happen to me sort of. Delivered food to some people. They opened the door and their large barking collie (mix?) got up in my face pushing me back, and the 2 men (30s) just *stared* from their door frame as their dog was attacking me (without actually biting, just jumping at me while I was backing away trying not to fall, barking, and threatening to bite). Dog stopped when I finally made it out of their property. They then yelled that she’s all bark. Usually people hold back their dogs at the door, put them in a closed room for a moment, or would run out to restrain the dog and profusely apologize. Especially when it involves a stranger who just helped you out. It was a bizarre encounter that left me shaking at the time. And I love dogs!

Neighborly social skills are at an all time low these days. Glad you're alright though. We just have to keep doing the right things that we can hold our heads high about. Even if it's not reciprocated. Sure makes you appreciate when it is though.
