My friend who is having a baby just told me she got the whooping cough vaccine 😳 I said that's weird my mom never had to get it and she went to military doctors (dad was in military).

So this must be a really really new thing, because my other friend never had to get it for both of her pregnancies (2016+2020)🤔

Apparently they started recommending its routine use on pregnant women back in 2006, which I think is just insane. My ob-gyn tried to get me when I was 28wks this past July and I declined after looking into it. Too many risks, not enough data to prove safety or efficacy imo.
