A state of emergency was declared in Nelson Tasman and the Maitai River breached its banks, forcing the evacuation of 233 homes.
It looks like I bugged out from my nelson home just in time to miss this flooding. It also looks like its going to get much worse. So glad im 1000 ft higher up now.
