i thought it was pretty suspich when all these airbases around me were decommissioned through the 90s. we have a huge northern wilderness border with Canada and Coastline access with rivers that could hide a Russian Nuclear Sub “Red October”. even the first settlers built forts at the mouth of every river and we have museums and medical offices.
