“Parasites were detected in 244 out of 300 examined insect farms. In 206 of the cases, the identified parasite were pathogenic for insects only, and 106 of the cases, the parasites were potentially parasitic for animals. In 91 of these cases, the parasites were found on these bugs on bug farms-potentially pathogenic for humans.
They will make you sick. It means they are going to give you diseases.
Edible insects are an underestimated reservoir of human and animal parasites.
Our research indicates the important role of insects in the epidemiology of parasites that are pathogenic to vertebraes. Conducted parasitology examinations suggest that edible insects may be the most important parasitic vector for domestic animals...”
