Howard Hughes told me on the phone one day..
I had gone & seen Jimmy Carter speak
he was in a campaign mode..
[Carter defeated Ford
& then was defeated by Reagan]
And [Howard] asked me what I thought?
I said well I think he did a pretty good presentation.
He says, “Nah. Phit.
Not a dime’s worth of difference between the 2 of em.
Democrat / Republican it’s all the same.”
That bothered me so bad.
Even as a kid it really grated on me.

HE WAS SO RIGHT!!!
Seriously, the guy was genius.
He saw behind the illusion.
