This may sound weird but I’ve never understood the Happy Memorial Day slogan. When I think of memorial day it’s a solemn sadness for all who gave their life for their country and us. I just don’t think Happy Memorial Day is appropriate for such an important holiday.

I think you are missing the point. Sorry. But it stays.

I was talking about all the commercialism, sorry I failed to mention that point. Now that I’m awake I can see the greed associated with it and how that greed is pushed on us, by a new car, furniture,etc.. And it’s done on Veterans day as well.

My son is a Veteran and fought in Irac. He lost a good friend in that war, that actually died in his arms. So it’s a tough day for him and naturallyI empathize with him. But, all that being said we are both entitled to our opinions and that’s ok.
