“Flags in.” Always brings back incredibly fond and heart felt memories for when I was there stationed in The 3rd US Infantry Regiment — The Old Guard. Every soldier does this no matter your rank. Honor Guard salute o7 🫡

No matter how many times I stood honor guard (all funerals) I always cried. First one tear, then another... a wipe of the sleeve across the face. Recover a bit and look around to make sure nobody saw...
Lost friends in active duty (5 years) and also while I was in fire service (12 years). And a salute o7 right back at you. Be well friend!

Knowing our government caused everyone of these deaths makes me Literally sick. I had a great nephew that took his life a year ago from PTSD from his tour in Afghanistan

I truly am saddened to hear that.
It has been a real struggle for the last 26 years for me ( I have help ).
I was part of one of the undeclared wars (Dessert Fox) and lost several friends. The VA is so backlogged that they actually are outsourcing for mental health help now.
God bless you Melanie ... Someday it will all make more sense.

Questioning everything led to my progressive awakening. Still learning daily. A new me, The Real Me is emerging. Strange, but I like her.

My husband did this today at our local cemetery, on all the veterans gravesites. Our local American Legion does this every year (I imagine they all do). GREAT organization.

Yes they are a great organization.
My hats off to your husband.
Always a hard weekend...
