They did not give it up!!!! The WW2 was planned and after 5 years of war and most people losing sons, fathers and Grandfathers the world had been trumatized and folks were just happy to get back home and spend time with what was left of their families and it was soon after this they introduced the NHS, public schooling and a whole lot of changes. The whole thing was planned, it would have taken them decades to push through those changes under normal times. Here is the UK we need our firearms back pronto
