Being a sheet metal worker I made a career out of pattern generation. No real serious math you couldn't do with a compass and square. In fact math for large objects and structures could only be done using them. The school taught math only works on paper. Long story short.. Intersecting lines is also part of it.. The sun is a lot closer than most people think..

I suppose you're asking 180 degrees of a 360 degree circumference. In navigational terms it would be 180th meridian.
