Agreed. It seems like a continuous struggle to differentiate between forgiveness and some of the strange intolerable circumstances facing us today though... so I would like to add, I cannot and will not forgive pure evil, especially while I am charged with defending innocents. I will forgive only to the extend that repentance is completely necessary if evil was involved. It is a fine line where I suppose it is not mine to judge, but it feels necessary not to cave to evil in this day. I do not owe evil my love, my compassion, nor my forgiveness... but I will reserve the right to forgive if a soul is not lost. I am walking that line and I am holding that line and God have mercy if I have choices in this battle. Please guide me Holy Spirit that I may remain engaged and discerning πŸ™πŸ»πŸ™πŸ»πŸ™πŸ»

It's a tough pill to swallow, probably will be the hardest for most, we know Jesus says 7x70, but does this apply to non-human souls?

James 2:10
For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

Romans 12:17-21
Repay no one evil for evil. Have[a] regard for good things in the sight of all men. 18 If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men. 19 Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, β€œVengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. Therefore β€œIf your enemy is hungry, feed him;
If he is thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Romans 3:23
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

I know, this is where I struggle. I also know not to kill, which I would never plan to do, but in the purpose of defense of a life, there is another promise I would not be able to keep.

I have to imagine that intent and what is truly in our hearts matters in these cases, but then that is a commandment.

I already do rely on guidance and answers from above for all impossible circumstances, so perhaps if these tougher choices ever unfold I will have enough faith and conviction to do all the right things in that moment. Until I understand these things better, I still struggle.
