Some of us have seen at least two, maybe three different "doubles"

Here's something to ponder - I'm not asleep but I had a hard time discerning faces for a long time. It was what held me up in drawing portraits - I started to break it down a few years ago & really pay attention to details & how they fit into the overall picture/portrait
So if I had trouble, others who don't know what to look for might just chalk it up to age and/or surgery

When you know what to look for it's pretty obvious
