Liquid mercury fill tunnels beneath Teotihuacan Pyramids, (also under other ancient monuments around the world!).
I don't buy the "mercury represents water" theory. Surely WATER could represent water??
People assume ancient people were stupid, and forget they were every bit as smart (probably smarter) than modern man! I suspect there's a technical reason for the mercury that we haven't discovered yet. I don't believe the pyramids were ever intended as tombs, just used as such after they fell into disrepair.
