We have to consider that some of these ppl have been raised watching their own parents abuse and murder ppl and little kids. They show them that shit and force them to participate for a reason.
If you were a kid in that shit and saw that your parents and the most powerful ppl in the world would think noting of torturing you and killing you, how would you get out?
There are worse things than death. Some of the torture they no doubt saw would keep anyone in line for a long time. Death would have been the easy thing for many of those children they tortured, some even for years.
Can you imagine things like being bound, tied up hands and feet in a cage 24/7 for days on end, what about for years on end?
These are the things these kids no doubt grew up seeing.
