"After watching the Oscars coverage, it occurred to me that I have not watched a new Hollywood movie in years, except for something I planned on making a video about for political reasons. I didn't recognise any of the film titles that were nominated for awards, I only recognised the actors I had watched since my childhood, and I didn't find myself even vaguely interested in anything they have starred in in recent years. I felt pretty good after that; clearly, I have extracted myself from that beguiling industry. Now everything they produce looks alien and sinister to my eyes."
