You are right, a lot of the Bible (Scripture) was kept out... and a lot of text was changed. Those kept out told the truth.. like the Book of Thomas, The Book of Enoch and others. If you read those you'll know what BIG lie they needed for us to know... that would make mankind think the bible was a joke. That's what they wanted us to think. And that's how Atheism and Agnosticism was born. Everyone comes into the truth in their own time... and each one of us has the right to take whatever time we need and want.
