Urbano Monte Map from 1587 is pretty interesting. What seems to be Tip of South America it is written to be "Region of Giants" and under that "Land of Fire" which should be Antarctica. Also there's a large land place in the center of the map (which should be North Pole).
The Earth is represented as Flat Earth surrounded by what we now call Antarctica.

“Terra del Fuego” Land of Fire is the southernmost part of Chile. Cape Horn is actually an island just off the southernmost landmass.
