"19 IF IN THIS LIFE ONLY we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.

20But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits (the precedent, the example) of them that slept.

21For since by man (Adam who sinned) came death, by man (Jesus who is without sin) came also the resurrection of the dead.

22For as IN ADAM ALL DIE, even so IN CHRIST SHALL ALL BE MADE ALIVE"

Beyond just physical death... rather, there is the second death and eternal life that each of us is deciding in this temporary life/death upon this earth. This life/death has an end...

the LIFE/DEATH that is to come will be eternal.

The SECOND death is ETERNAL SEPARATION FROM GOD and all that he has created. The only place where his presence does not reside has been prepared for the devil and his angels (Gehenna Hell). Ppl were never sposed to go there. When we join ourselves to Rebellion against God, we resign ourselves to the Second Death.
