This sounds to me like your main source is, directly or indirectly, RT. People for the most part are not happy in unaffected areas, and are especially not happy about the invasion in the areas where the war is happening.

Without defending any of the other parties involved, Russia and propaganda go hand in hand all the way back to the 50s at the very least. Russia has a lot of experience, has lined a lot of pockets to create mouth pieces and has a history and a leader that give reason to doubt any information that make Russia seem better than it might be.
