if they take a cyanide pill, there is still a small window to pump their stomachs to keep them alive.
There are other poisons that would act very quickly - I think cyanide is an old fashioned idea from spy movies and novels.
Today there are things that would kill instantly. The "new and improved" way for spies to die.
Fentanyl would be a good choice. Painless too. Doesn't take much at all.
