PSERS is an acronym for the state’s Public School Employees’ Retirement System. It is among the largest 25 pension funds in the nation, ranked by assets. The plan oversees the pension system for nearly 250,000 retired teachers and other local school workers, and a similar number of working educators who pay into it.
