Massive cyberattack targets Red Cross - compromising data of over 500,000 “highly vulnerable people”

A hack on the International Committee of the Red Cross compromised the personal data of 515,000 people, including some separated from their families by conflict or disaster. (CNN)

The cyberattack targeted and shut down IT systems which support a program that reunites people separated by war, migration or disaster.

It’s unclear who initiated the cyber incident, but the Red Cross reported its an ongoing and “most pressing concern.”
