I keep hearing from people that they are afraid to hope. I ask why?
They say because they dont want to be dissapointed. Ahhh.
There is a difference between having hope and having expectations. It is the expectations that causes us to be dissapointed. Why you might ask.
When we have expectations, it is due to something in our own time or way of thinking.
Hope is NEVER a bad thing to have. In fact, it is scriptural. HEB 11:1 Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. And ROM 15:4 For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.
The scriptures are filled with hope and what it is to have. Stop waiting and expecting things in the natural to happen, and begin to focus on Christ, for it is HE who is our foundation and our hope. It is His timing and His will that I abide in, knowing this frees me from Hope deferred
