Its been around since 2004, but is becoming the new standard for transmitting payment data to financial institutions. I work in IT on an ERP system in the Financial space, so this became a recent project for me for creating a new payment transmission file in this format & an interface with one of the financial institutions my company transacts with. This method covers Trade, Credit cards, payments, securities & Fx. By 2023 its expected to by used 80%+ across the globe.
So will we be required to use it?
Is it a stock?
Or more like a currency - like bitcoin?
People say, its "selling for .94" so is it a mechanism of use, currency or vehicle of a stock?

Its a data transmission file used between businesses & financial institutions who need to send large volumes of transactions. Not something individual consumers would use. Moving away from
complicated unique/different payment files to a single standard across the globe simplifies the processing costs on all ends.
Its a system to replace swift, and people are buying into the stock I guess. Our condo association has put our reserves into XRP
