I think the chess metaphor may be better than a movie. Whitehats have the comes and are forcing moves by the DS. The DS moves are known and countermoves will be implemented. The DS has only a few moves left until checkmate but are forcing the entire game with hopes that whitehats will make a critical error and allow them to escape/succeed. This makes it look like a movie.
