Thank you for the prayers for my Mother. She had a heart attack last night& died& they came in to tell us that they put her on a manual vent until we decided what we wanted to do. Whether to take her off of it as they said she was basically only having a pulse because they were breathing for here& that she would pass on when we took it out. That we could have a few minutes with here first in this unconscious state to say our goodbyes or they could fully vent her&send her on to larger hospital in Nashville to continue in this state.They were sure that her ribs as well were broken from reviving her, she is 86 with a pacemaker and has been in bad heart health since her month long hospital stay last yr when covid began.
We decided not to put her thro any more, remove the vent & let it be between here and God.
The nurses & staff were making her comfortable as they were sure she would pass when they removed it. God decided it was not yet time, & we still have her for n
Her ribs broken: Woww, that was the wrong place for reviving her?

We rotate 24/7 would never leaver her in a hospital alone for a minute.
She would have died 3 times had one of us not been there last year when she was there for a month and a half.
And it was a good hospital.
Would have died 3 times: good heavens! We know that, thanks to cut backs, nurses got lesser time to spend on the patients. But also noticed a change in attitude towards the patients. Almost like they did not really care anymore about their well being. So weird. One patient was complaining about pain in his belly and was ignored, he died the next day... That is what you get when the economic cut backs got over the edge of the reasonable. It's called: the rat race against the clock. And all that for the profit and the higher salaris for the managers.

Nana has been in a lot of hospitals for myself and family over the years and my take away is this.
Just like any other profession there are ones that are EXCELLENT, ones that are GOOD, and ones that are so bad they can literally cause ppl to die.
When my Mom was in the hospital for instance for over a month last year she received EXCELLENT care all but 3 specific times with 3 specific nurses, but all 3 of those times would have been lethal had one of us not been there with her.
We never leave a family member in the hospital alone.
It is just too dangerous.
