🔴“Nation’s Report Card’ shows historic decline in teens’ reading & math scores (Report)

US 13-year-olds are less proficient in math and reading than they were almost a decade ago. (National Assessment of Educational Progress)

Data collected prior to the pandemic, but released Thursday, shows struggling students are falling even further behind - based on analysis stretching back half a century.

Nearly 9,000 students took the test between October 2019 and December 2019, with math scores falling on average five percentage points. Reading scores declined three points on average.

Now add remote learning and multiply by a lack of social interaction!

When we were kids we had to use maths and geometry to play our games and work out tricks on our bikes and now they just watch a video and think Yep , I can do that !

Our poor kids were already at a disadvantage because of a dependency on digital learning. OECD PISA tests found this caused a drop in some country's scores that were high adopters. That happened in or around 2012.

At the same time, another global study found kids at different stages of life needed monitored screen time and that an increase in the use of screens was contributing to a sedentary lifestyle.

Not to mention also contributing to generation hunchback. Spinal deformities from leaning over screens.
