Pavlovian reaction.... Fear makes people react (out of emotion) than to act (out of a thought out, logical stance).
They want reactions so we show our flaws and stay off balance.
If we stand our ground and have a plan (no matter how small or grand) they will not know what to do, because they failed to create the desired response. Therefore the upper hand. I have a plan and that is to pray to God.
