You only get a few chances in life to really enjoy and engage just a handful of people.
Some of them are closer friends than others.
Sometimes you get a whole lifetime to be around him.
And now other times it's just a short period.
Might only be days, guys in the Foxhole..
Sometimes it's minutes or hours. David, came late to the fight in some ways, and he acknowledged that he didn't understand the fight maybe as early as a lot of people did.
But once he understood it completely and he knew, that there were real bad guys, some of them that he thought were white hats and later learned weren't once he understood the problem he was all in.
There wasn't any divided nature to him.
He was an all in kind of a guy...

His last communication before being drugged and intubated against his will. He died of Sepsis 3 days later. A great loss and a great man.
