The Constitution was framed around a fear of foreign interference in our political system, that's why the restriction of POTUS and VPOTUS both being "Natural Born", both parents being Citizens at the time of their birth. (That's out the window with Harris, who's an Anchor Baby.) Our Founders prohibited ANYONE holding public office in the Federal Government from holding any foreign title, as it denoted possible allegiance to a foreign power.
