Are we??? I don't think so. I think we're just now waking up from a very deep slumber. They've always been in power. It took someone very special to wake the public. This goes back to at the very least, 100+ years. Think about the Great Depression, all World Wars, Pearl Harbor, etc. They've been behind ALL OF IT.
