A wee note about Richard Branson. Around 1986 Branson opened 'The Virgin Megastore' in Dublin Ireland. The opening of this new 'megastore' had huge advertising and hype, of a level never seen before in conservative catholic Ireland. What made this grand opening even more notable was the fact that when the huge multi door frontage opened on this new store and the crowds entered the first thing they saw was a massive display of 'Mates' condoms. At that point in the church ruled country, the sale of birth control was illegal. (except for in the 24/7 picketed family planning centre). Branson got around this by giving them away , not selling them. This then led to the eventual controversial change of law regarding sale of birth control. Hence the introduction of planned parenthood in conservative Ireland and the shift to liberalism amongst the younger generations.
