Making and operating current electric vehicles is not any cleaner. Charging uses electricity which is predominately produced by fossil fuels. Battery production and replacement has many hazardous chemicals.
If alternative vehicles are really important, lets make sure the change is not worse than the current solutions.
Rumors of wireless energy might offer a really good option.
