A synthetic protocol is described for preparing lipid-coated gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) of varying shape, size, and membrane composition. Using ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy (UV-Vis), the localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) of the AuNPs is used to examine nanoparticle stability.
