If there is anything that I am grateful for, in these ... challenging ... times, it's that my precious mother has already passed, and no official is trying to keep me from being with her at that sacred time.
I GOT to be with her at her passing. Her end-of-life journey was the most incredible months/weeks/days/_hour_ of my life! I no longer fear death. At all.

I'm sorry for your loss Jane. My mom has had alzheimers for years (md 60's ) she's now 80 so I hear you and is locked in a NY Nursing home, had CV, they forced the shot on her, she's physically great, knows no one , but she somehow can sing all the words to all the old hymns :)

I once watched a video where they played old music from their day to Alzheimer’s patients. Truly remarkable. it’s been so hard on all of us. Not only mourning the obvious but no one knows what we’re truly mourning.
