The appointment was never rescinded, it
just ceased to be in force once the death certificate
established JK status as deceased .
The official record reassigns the office to a replacement
officer, yet in the event that the former holder of the office
has a change of status back to alive , his office is restored
and his former position reinstated retroactive to the time of loss of office.
