My daughter is a type 1 diabetic, she was diagnosed at the age of 5 yrs and 3 months. My husband and I STRUGGLED on a monthly basis, just to get the basic insulin, test strips and syringes. Many times we cried because we didnt have the money to buy the insulin needed for her so we cut back the amount she actually needed in half just to make it through the month. in her early teen years we were able to get Insurance through my husbands work and finally we had help getting the supplies she need to LIVE. BUT, the prices kept going up it seemed and our copay kept going up.... We struggled again.
